How can I ensure the growth and survival of my tree(s)?
When trees are transplanted, they may lose a large percentage of their productive roots. Therefore, it is crucial to help your tree adjust to its new home. This means being diligent with watering, weeding & proper fertilization (if indicated). It is normal for recently transplanted trees to experience what is called “Transplant Shock”. This can show up as paling and then browning of needles in conifers, and reduced vitality/wilting in leaves of deciduous trees. As the tree adjusts with time and becomes established, these symptoms will leave. This can take up to two growing seasons.
